This document reflects standard practice for an early-stage rental platform in India and is provisional pending legal review. A finalised version will be published by Makan On Rent.
This policy explains what information Makan On Rent collects when you use our site, why we collect it, and how it's handled.
Information we collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number. When you book a site visit, we record the properties you're interested in and the visit request details. When an agent collects a visit fee by UPI, they upload a payment screenshot as proof of collection. We do not collect payment card details — we never touch your bank or card information directly.
How we use it
Your phone number and email are used to create your account, to track your free-visit allowance, and to connect you with a Makan On Rent agent over WhatsApp for site visits. We don't sell your information to third parties or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your contact details are visible to the Makan On Rent agent assigned to your visit, and to our admin team for support and quality purposes. Property owners do not see your contact information directly — all first contact goes through a Makan On Rent agent.
Data storage and security
Data is stored with Supabase (hosted on secure cloud infrastructure) and protected by access controls and encryption in transit. Uploaded images have location metadata stripped before storage.
Your choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time by contacting us. Deleting your account does not retroactively refund visits already used under the free-visit allowance.
